Jo Jacob - Professional Organiser, Downsizing Expert and Content Creator
With 21 years' experience and over 136,000 followers across social media, Jo Jacob is one of the UK's most recognised professional organisers and downsizing specialists. She has been featured in Good Housekeeping, The Telegraph, Metro, HuffPost UK, Ideal Home and Newsweek, spoken on stage at the Ideal Home Show and the Home, Life & You Show, and was named Content Creator of the Year at the Home, Life & You Show in October 2025.

Jo has been a member of APDO (the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers) for over 17 years and worked with The Senior Move Partnership for 10 years, specialising in supporting clients through downsizing into retirement living.

As well as working with clients in person across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex, Jo creates online courses and digital products for people across the UK who want expert guidance on decluttering, organising and moving home - without needing her in the room.​​​

Benella Home Organisation was founded in 2005 from a simple belief: that an organised home creates a calmer, happier life. Since then, Jo has helped hundreds of clients declutter, downsize, move home, sort paperwork and photographs, and find peace in spaces that once felt overwhelming.

Whether you're drowning in clutter, facing a major house move, or trying to help an elderly parent downsize with dignity, Jo brings practical expertise, genuine warmth, and zero judgement.

Services cover home organising and decluttering, downsizing and senior moves, bereavement clearance, paperwork and photographs, home staging, and moving support - both in person and remotely via video.​

A little about Jo
​
Jo originally trained as an interior designer, before going on to study under respected experts including Ann Maurice from TV's House Doctor and Dawna Walter of Life Laundry. It was this combination of spatial thinking and deep understanding of how people actually live that shaped her approach to organising.
​
In 2018, Jo's father passed away. At the start of 2020 - just before the pandemic - she lost her mother too, and found herself grieving while simultaneously trying to clear and sell the family home she had grown up in. It was one of the hardest experiences of her life.
​
That experience gave Jo something no training can provide: a genuine understanding of what it feels like to stand in a beloved family home that has to be emptied, when grief makes every object feel impossible to touch. She has since supported many bereaved clients through exactly this process, and brings to it a level of compassion and practical understanding that is hard to find elsewhere.
​
Jo lives in Petersfield, Hampshire, and has built a trusted network of local tradespeople, removal firms and specialists across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex - so clients always have reliable support beyond the organising itself.
