Photograph organiser
An estimated 1.4 trillion photos were taken worldwide in 2020, and the number continues to grow each year. Almost 80% of digital photos never leave the phone/camera.
Do you feel overwhelmed by printed photos stored in many areas of your home? What would happen if there was a fire or flood? Do you want them scanned and backed up? Would you like to create a photobook as a gift but no idea where to start?
The process of sorting through your photos or those you have inherited can be overwhelming. It is vital however to organise them so they can be kept safe in special boxes, put into photobooks or albums, scanned and backed up to share for future generations.
Jo originally trained through the certification programme with The Association of Personal Photograph Organisers in the US and can help with the following:
-
Hands on help sorting out printed photographs using the ABC'S method
-

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does photograph organising cost?
A: An initial session to assess what's needed and begin the work is £50 per hour. Scanning printed photographs to digital format is charged at 10p per photograph.
Q: Can you help if I don't live near Petersfield?
A: Yes. Photograph organising support is available remotely via online video sessions, so you can get help wherever you are.
Q: What happens to my photos once they're organised?
A: Printed photographs are sorted hands on using the ABC'S method, then scanned and backed up to digital format so they're safe and easy to find. Photobooks can also be designed and put together as gifts or for events. Original photos once scanned can be disposed of or kept by yourself, knowing they are backed up and therefore safe.
Q: Are you qualified to help with photo organising?
A: Yes. Jo originally trained in photograph organising with The Photo Managers and is a member of APDO (Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers) with many years' experience helping clients organise and preserve their photographs.
Q: Why should I scan my printed photos rather than just keep the originals?
A: Scanning protects your photos from being lost to fire, flood or general wear over time, while also making them easy to back up, share and enjoy again.
